University of Florida - Herbert Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence

The H. Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence is a 78,000 SF expansion and renovation to the college’s Nuclear Science Building for the College of Engineering at the University of Florida. The five-story facility will include spaces for computer engineering, a freshman design lab, prototyping lab, engineering experiment station, advanced manufacturing, faculty offices, graduate student innovation space, biotech labs, and numerous collaboration and collision spaces. The building is envisioned as the front door for the College of Engineering, bringing 2,000 students through its doors each semester with the purpose of motivating new students to become engineers by putting the research and education capabilities of the college on display. This project is pursuing LEED® Silver certification.
