Baltimore/Washington Medical Center - Women's Center and In-Patient Tower
Construction of a 290,000 SF, nine-story, reinforced concrete structure with a steel-framed mechanical penthouse. Exterior systems included EIFS, brick, curtainwall, storefronts and metal panels. 115 new private beds were added through construction. The third floor is primarily an obstetric center with four labor and delivery beds and two C-Section beds. The seventh and eighth floors are shell spaces. The renovation of 16,000 SF of existing space was also included. Infrastructure additions included two 102,000 CFM air handlers and one 45,000 CFM air handler, one 1,000-ton chiller, two 500-ton cooling towers and one 1,000-ton cooling tower, two 15-kV emergency generators and two 17,250-BTU boilers.
