Opry Mills
Whiting-Turner originally constructed the mall which opened its doors in May of 2000. In 2010, a flood impacted the Nashville area, resulting in between two and 10 feet of river water in the mall and across the entire property. Whiting-Turner was tasked with reconstructing the mall, which was a stripped shell, in seven months and then assisted in the coordination of the interior construction.

The flooring consisted of over 225,000 SF of ceramic tile, stone, carpet, wood flooring, and refinished colored concrete. The main street ceiling elements were a design/build effort and incorporated both traditional drywall construction and lightweight elements. A new lighting design was incorporated throughout the project and electrical and mechanical systems were repaired. We also constructed 90 white box tenant spaces, totaling 299,000 SF and 2,800 LF of tenant storefront.
