Penn State University Millennium Science Complex

This 292,570 SF life science and material science research building consists of a tiered, four-level structural steel frame, precast skin with curtainwall, metal panels, and green roofs. The project also features a cantilevered steel structure over a garden plaza.

Special features include H-5 building classification and special utility systems such as RO/DI water systems, ultra-pure water systems, lab gases, pyrophoric and toxic gas systems, and gas abatement systems. Other areas include a common café, offices, and conference and teleconference rooms. This facility also consists of many labs including quiet labs, ultra quiet labs, life science labs, material science labs and vibration sensitive rooms. This project received LEED® Gold certification.
