Whiting-Turner
Higher Education Housing
A Ready Place to Learn & Live
Whiting-Turner’s rigid construction protocol protects the health and well-being of patients. Infectious dust, noise and vibration are mitigated. Workers are clearly identified and trained in our required safety practices. This also helps ensure continued JCAHO approval.
Whiting-Turner understands and appreciates your dependence on us. Students drive your bottom line and you depend on us to provide for their most basic need: a place to live. Schools commit beds to students in advance, and failure to open on time is not an option. Timely renovation and/or new construction is achieved without disruption to campus activity so students can maintain their work, play and sleep hours safely and without interruption. As a partner with you and your design team, our efforts and assistance focus on:
- Meeting move-in dates
- Student security (access controls, cameras, limited ground floor shrubs)
- Good neighbor practices (work hours, noise level)
- ADA requirements
- Sustainability/LEED® initiatives
- Mock-ups to assist in finishes selection & durability assessment
- Furniture & equipment – assisting with delivery & installation
- Wireless capabilities, cable & connection to campus backbone
- Conventional versus modular
