The project involves a 45,000 SF new exhibition wing to provide larger, more flexible space for exhibitions of greater size and variety. Included in the expansion is a state-of-the-art 5,000 SF 225-seat lecture hall/auditorium, high-tech learning centers, gift shop, outdoor sculpture garden, and six acres of sitework. It also features an innovative, multilayered roof and ceiling system comprised of glass, steel, louvers, and horizontal shades that capture the South Texas light and then filters and adjusts it to achieve optimal exhibition results.
