Treat the Earth Well
Plan to Achieve!
As facility owners, developers, and design and construction professionals, we have a responsibility to ensure the health of people and ecosystems, and the form and function of cities, communities, and life-cycle operations of our planet. Achieving a building that serves as a benchmark for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility is truly a team effort.
Throughout design, Whiting-Turner’s LEED® Accredited Professionals promote whole-systems thinking, and clarify the relationship between desired program features, initial budget, and life-cycle cost. As part of the planning process we:
- Help establish certification goals early
- Participate in / conduct charrettes
- Analyze on-site energy, lighting, and water conservation
- Promote materials reuse and recycling
- Ensure indoor air quality during construction
- Develop waste management/documentation plans
- Develop commissioning plans
