Rebuild Together | Washington, DC

Rebuild Together of DC is a nonprofit group that repairs homes for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners in the District. Homeowners submit applications detailing the work they need done as well as the challenges they face on a daily basis. For the second year in a row, members of Whiting-Turner partnered together with Perkins Eastman to volunteer at a two-story row house with a basement on North Capitol Street. Our work involved minor patching and repairs, a lot of painting and a little bit of electrical. The project took three days to complete, starting on April 29th and finishing on May 6th, with a follow-up visit on October 28th. We want to recognize Scott McMahon and Todd Confer for taking the lead on this project, as well as thank all of those that volunteered for offering their heart and hard work to improve the quality of life for this family.
