Coral Springs Downtown Infrastructure Improvements

About

THIS PROJECT

This streetscape improvement project consists of multiple sections between Coral Hills Drive and University Drive in Coral Springs, Florida. The first component reconfigured 2,000 linear feet (LF) of roadway to be pedestrian-friendly and reduce traffic. This included the demolition and replacement of the roadway, medians, curbs, sidewalks, lighting and landscaping. New drainage and water main lines were also installed with the roadways and irrigation.

Along the sidewalks, a 1,000 LF park was built to provide an appealing and accessible environment for pedestrians and bicyclists. A reinforced concrete culvert was installed to cover a canal to make the area usable. Known as the ArtWalk, there are six art sculpture locations, 300 LF of seating wall, landscaping and decorative concrete hardscape. The area showcases permanent and temporary art pieces to residents and visitors year-round.
