Ho‘ōla Early Phase Clinical Research Center

Ho‘ōla Early Phase Clinical Research Center

Named after the Hawaiian word for ‘healing,’ the 6,000 SF Ho‘ōla Early Phase Clinical Research Center will be the only facility in Hawaii specifically dedicated to early-phase clinical research. In addition, the center will serve as the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) cancer center in the Pacific region. It will provide patients access to early-phase clinical trials and treatments, including the compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous cancer drugs. The center will enhance research capabilities across the University of Hawaii and other Hawaii-based research institutions. The interior construction of the core and shell space will include:

  • Phlebotomy area
  • Nursing station
  • Research pharmacy
  • Consultation office
  • Exam rooms
  • Treatment spaces
  • Waiting room
  • Clean room
  • Staff lounge
  • Administrative and support spaces
