Located at the Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover, Delaware, this cardiac catheterization laboratory was renovated and expanded. It now serves as a hybrid operating room, a space equipped to perform minimally invasive procedures which increases efficiency and reduces complications. This project included the addition of a control room, equipment and storage rooms.

Whiting-Turner was engaged to perform preconstruction services for this project due to its location within an occupied unit of the building. The project team worked to ensure that the extensive above-ceiling and in-wall utilities required for the medical equipment could fit within the space provided. The VDC team was involved throughout both preconstruction and construction phases to coordinate all structural and utility work, ensuring that all systems fit within the space and minimizing the risk of rework.
