Capital One Hall

About

THIS PROJECT

Capital One Hall is a 125,000 SF performing arts center located on the Capital One campus in Tysons, Virginia. The space is available for corporate use, concerts, theater productions, weddings, receptions and public events. The facility includes:

  • A 1,600-seat main hall
  • A 225-seat black box theater
  • A grand foyer with space for a 400-person seated audience or 1,000-person standing-room event
  • Two catering kitchens
  • Dressing rooms
  • Classrooms
  • Snack and drink bars
  • High-end finishes with materials imported from Belgium, Italy, Canada, Columbia and throughout the United States

This project required extensive collaboration to determine a highly engineered noise and vibration control plan. To achieve the unique structural approach, over 600 rubber acoustical bearings were designed, fabricated and installed. The complex, geometric building façade was comprised of glass panes and more than 7,000 marble panels supported by structural steel.
