Located at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Baltimore Street, 4MLK is the seventh building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s BioPark district. The eight-story building features laboratory and research space in addition to office and meeting areas open to the community. Amenities available inside the building include:

  • 160,000 SF of Class A wet laboratory space
  • 35,000 SF Connect Labs by Wexford
  • Custom and speculative laboratory and office space
  • 16,000 SF, two-story convening space
  • Coffee bar
  • Retail space
  • Public plaza

Engine 38

POPPLETON FIREHOUSE

Another aspect of the project included restoring an adjacent, two-story historic firehouse for future use as restaurant tenant space. Known as the Engine 38 Poppleton Firehouse, it opened in 1910 as a response to the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. The firehouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
