City of Pompano Beach Streetscape Improvements

About

THIS PROJECT

This project involves pedestrian and public road improvements along five different Pompano Beach streets and right-of-way property. The project was designed to create “complete streets.” The concept of “complete streets” establishes a policy that focuses on the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists and transit riders first, rather than looking at streets with a focus on the needs of motorists. Developing desirable and safe alternatives to modes of transportation, such as walking, biking and transit, will reduce traffic levels by allowing people to choose other modes of travel for daily trips.

Hardscape and landscape beautification included:

  • 15,450 SY of asphalt paving/resurfacing of roadway alignment, curbs and paving borders
  • Special pavement materials and patterns
  • Relocation and installation of trees, shrubs and groundcovers
  • Pedestrian lighting
  • Site furnishings
  • On-street parking
  • Irrigation system installation
  • Storm drainage structures and piping
  • Water main and services
  • Reclaimed water main
  • Sewer lateral lining

Cost estimating and value engineering services were also provided to the City of Pompano Beach.
