This warehouse for Smithfield Foods, located in North East, Maryland, is a 425,000 SF cold storage distribution center for meat, with freezer temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to -10 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility also includes an administrative office building, maintenance and shipping office and a central ammonia refrigeration machine room. The DX refrigeration system includes 33 mini penthouse units with evaporators in each penthouse. This project is pursuing LEED® certification.
