THIS PROJECT

The Bengies Sewage Pumping Station Upgrade was a complete 18 MGD pumping station retrofit for the Baltimore County Department of Public Works. The project involved an initial utility upgrade to facilitate the station bypass for the new capacity and automated control, as well as a 30-inch line stop configuration. The project also included:

  • Concrete restoration of interior substructure and wet well walls
  • New epoxy coatings systems for walls and floor and mechanical systems
  • Four 16-inch vertical centrifugal pumps and 24-inch discharge piping
  • 24-inch in diameter flowmeter and isolation/bypass vaults
  • Motor control center and primary service gear
  • 1.5-megawatt emergency generator with outdoor enclosure
  • Fencing and site restoration including a new 12-inch pavement section
  • Demolition of all mechanical and electrical systems
  • New roof and substrate replacement
