THIS PROJECT
The Bayhealth Sussex Campus is a 440,000 SF, six-story, 128-bed, full-service replacement hospital located in Sussex County, Delaware. This new hospital includes:
- Emergency department
- Imaging department
- Rooftop heliport
- 73 ,000 SF ambulatory care center
- Central services building
- Radiation and medical oncology departments
- Seven operating room suites
- Intensive care unit
- Labor and delivery unit
- Prefabricated patient bathrooms
This project has an Integrated Project Delivery contract with the owner, design team and Whiting-Turner. Trade partners (totaling about 70% or the work on the project) were brought on early and assisted with preconstruction and design to maintain efficiency.
This project won the inaugural 2019 Exceptional Detail Award by AIA Baltimore.
